Church History
It all started in 1952 when the evangelistic band of our mother church, the United Evangelical Church of the Philippines (UECP), decided to meet regularly for prayer in Grace Park, Caloocan. At that time, we didn’t have a permanent place of prayer yet. They met at the house of Mr. and Mrs. Ong Lip Chiao, sisters Kho Gok Ching, and Tiu Po Eng. Shortly thereafter, in order to reach the neighborhood children with the gospel of salvation, they decided to form the first Sunday School. They met at the house of Mr. and Mrs. Santiago Bendicion. The number of attendees steadily grew to almost a hundred, such that the need to start a local church in the area was becoming more evident.
Hence, in 1966, the Malabon Gospel Point was established with its first worship service held every Sunday afternoon. Eventually, the work expanded such that in 1973, the United Evangelical Church of Malabon (UECM) was recognized as a daughter church of UECP, and subsequently became an independent church body in 1984.
